Publishers and editors of proceedings are expected to respect the documents of regulatory national and international organisations that prescribe good editorial practice, especially the provisions on publishing ethics.
Publishers who opt for the highest level of representation on the Portal (Professional package) receive additional support in protecting the integrity of published papers:
Prevention of plagiarism. This service is intended to prevent the publication of plagiarised papers. It is used in the process of preparing the proceedings for publication. The check is performed using the iThenticate service, generally accepted as the gold standard for the purpose. Editors choose whether to review all submitted manuscripts or only papers accepted for publication.
Normalisation of references. As an operation it is primarily intended for the integration and networking of papers, but it simultaneously contributes to the (ethical) integrity of papers, because it exposes possible ethical abuses, primarily manipulative citing..
Online metadata integration. Just as in the case of normalisation, functions concerning integration ("related articles", etc.) indicate the abuse of citations and the publication of already published works.
When unequivocal violations of ethical norms are determined by checking for plagiarism and operations during the processing of papers, the editors are required to prevent their publication. At the same time, they are advised to resolve disputed deficiencies in cooperation with the authors.
