This paper presents comparison of proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller and Fuzzy logic controller applied on control of circulation pump. Their comparative advantages and limitations are analyzed as well as the possibilities of integrating both approaches in real industrial conditions. The experimental model was implemented on an ABB controller where a circulation pump for filling the tank was used as an actuator. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the performance of both controllers through the criteria that the same amount of time is used for tuning of the parameters of both controllers.
