Abstract
The municipality of Stari grad is one of the oldest and most important municipalities in Belgrade, which is located in the very heart of Belgrade and faces serious challenges in terms of air quality. Air pollution affects the quality of life and health of citizens. Students of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Union Nikola Tesla University worked on a case study: "Air pollution in the municipality of Stari Grad" as part of the Ecology and Built Environment course. The work was divided into groups, so one group of students surveyed civil society, in order to find out how informed citizens are: about air pollution, pollution samples, what are heat islands, what measures should be implemented in closed and open spaces in order to protect people from pollution. This paper will present the results of the survey as well as the proposed measures they proposed in order to protect against air pollution.
