Abstract
Erosion processes pose a significant threat to sustainable spatial development, especially in sensitive protected areas. This paper presents the application of GIS technologies and cartographic methods in assessing erosion risk in the protected areas (landscape of outstanding features) of Avala and Kosmaj. Through multi-criteria analysis (AHP), factors such as slope, lithology, precipitation, land use and erosion coefficient were integrated. Three erosion-prone zones were identified: western and southern slopes of Avala, Parcanski Vis area, and the southern slopes of Kosmaj. The study discusses the planning implications and suggests protective measures. The findings have practical value for spatial planning and environmental conservation.
