Abstract
Wastewater is any water that becomes chemically or biologically altered and polluted after use. It is produced by various activities including household, industrial, commercial, and agricultural processes, as well as surface runoff from rainfall. The composition of wastewater depends on the specific sources of pollution, often combining different types of pollutants from multiple sources. The presence of harmful and toxic substances in wastewater can contaminate the soil, water, and air, directly affecting human health. Effective wastewater management should prioritize sustainable practices in water consumption, use, and treatment. Sustainability involves addressing environmental, social, and economic aspects to ensure that present needs are met without compromising the needs of future generations.
