Analysis and assessment of the current waste management situation in the territory of the city of Niš
Sažetak
Ovaj rad istražuje strategije i izazove u upravljanju otpadom na teritoriji grada Niša. Analizirajući postojeći sistem upravljanja otpadom, kao i aktuelne politike i inicijative za unapređenje, identifi kuje se neophodnost efi kasnijeg pristupa u ovoj oblasti. Fokus je na problemima nedostatka infrastrukture za prikupljanje i tretman otpada, kao i nedovoljne svesti građana o važnosti recikliranja. Kroz pregled relevantnih podataka i istraživanja, ovaj rad ističe potrebu za implementacijom novih tehnologija i proširenjem edukativnih programa kako bi se poboljšalo upravljanje otpadom u gradu Nišu. Uključivanje lokalnih vlasti, privatnog sektora i građana ključno je za stvaranje održivijeg modela upravljanja otpadom i unapređenje kvaliteta života u ovom gradu.
Abstract
This study explores strategies and challenges in waste management in the territory of the city of Niš. By analyzing the existing waste management system, as well as current policies and initiatives for improvement, the need for a more efficient approach in this area is identified. The focus is on issues such as the lack of infrastructure for waste collection and treatment, as well as insufficient awareness among citizens about the importance of recycling. Through a review of relevant data and research, this paper highlights the need for the implementation of new technologies and the expansion of educational programs to improve waste management in the city of Niš. Involvement of local authorities, the private sector, and citizens is crucial for creating a more sustainable waste management model and enhancing the quality of life in this city.
