Turizam i njegov uticaj na životnu sredinu u Opštini Irig na primeru Banje Vrdnik
Tourism and its impact on the environment in the Municipality of Irig on the example of Vrdnik Spa
Abstract
The concept of turning a human to nature, caused by lifestyle and harmful environmental effects, has been expanded to include the possibility of extracting natural and anthropogenic resources in a broader sense. This also leads to the commercialisation of new and ecologically undisturbed destinations. In recent years, tourism has developed into an important factor in sustainable development, especially in the spatial plans of local government. With the implementation of appropriate construction and infrastructure planning, the protection of natural assets, education and constant monitoring, the further impact of tourism on the environment and its transformation could be significantly reduced. Additionally, the development of alternative forms of tourism that do not have a mass character could be more effectively managed. The research conducted in the Municipality of Irig revealed that predominantly mass tourism is present, disrupting the environment and is not aligned with the National Park Fruška Gora. In recent years, there has been a surge in the construction of accommodation facilities, which has led us to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the Vrdnik settlement, specifically the Vrdnik Spa area. This region is witnessing an alarming increase in accommodation facilities, directly proportional to the growing number of tourists yearly.
