Abstract
When dealing with program content, geography lessons are mainly conducted using the method of oral presentation, illustrative-demonstrative and dialogical methods. Despite the fact that the geographic content of the program is based on various sources of information, obviousness, direct experience and application of knowledge in a given problem situation, the work with students is usually based on the teacher's presentation, the use of maps and textbooks. Under these conditions, students' thinking and practical activity and their training to apply knowledge and solve problems independently are reduced to a minimum. Project teaching can help to improve the quality of teachers' work, plan the teaching process and strengthen competences in the field of didactic-methodological knowledge. The work is based on the exchange of professional experiences of teachers from Serbia and North Macedonia through the presentation of scenarios and examples of good practice in order to promote project-based learning. The work discusses the specificity of project-based teaching in planning pedagogical work, solving problem situations, as well as the application of various activities by teachers and students. The results show the need for continuous improvement of didactic-methodological competences of teachers in the field of project teaching, a critical attitude towards information and guidance in the use of various sources of knowledge. The final product is the teacher's ability to apply project teaching, which involves mutual cooperation and teamwork of all participants in the educational process.
