Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming industry and serves as the foundation for the concept of new industrialization worldwide—Industry 4.0 and 5.0. New industrial environments include the application of numerous modern digital and intelligent technologies, which enable companies to automate and enhance their business processes. With the introduction of new “smart” technologies, industrial systems become reconfigurable and are designed to allow rapid structural changes so that capacities and functionalities can be quickly adapted to personalized market demands. Industrial equipment, systems, and processes are interconnected through the use of AI, which enables real-time data sharing and analysis, as well as communication between different industrial sectors. This implies the application of innovations, digital tools, and intelligent services across all segments of the economy. The ultimate goal is to introduce principles of smart organization, procurement, monitoring, maintenance, production, and distribution into modern industrial solutions, enabling faster, more flexible, and more efficient operations, as well as the creation of higher-quality products with reduced costs.
The aim of the conference is to present the current state, as well as trends in the development and application of AI methods and algorithms in the modern industrial environment—globally, regionally, and within the Republic of Serbia. Due to its relevance, this topic is of exceptional importance for the future of the economy, considering the rapid development of new technologies that inevitably lead to numerous changes in industry and the economy as a whole. The adaptation of industry and the economy through defining a new future development strategy, as well as the adaptation of the academic community through the innovation of education for future engineers in line with new smart and intelligent technologies, represents an imperative and an essential step on the path toward the development of a modern society.
